Three Faces, One Supplier Diversity Mission

The University of Virginia is actually three different state agencies – Agencies 207, 209, and 246.  Agency 207  is the University of Virginia Academic Division; Agency 209 is the University of Virginia Health System; and Agency 246 is the University of  Virginia’s College at Wise in Wise, Virginia. There are three agencies with three supply chains – each unique in what they buy and how they buy it.

Here are some hints to help you:

• If you are in construction, Agency 207 handles the construction for all three agencies but the budget processes are managed through the respective agencies.
• Wise is a good place for smaller firms located in the western section of the State to do business with us.
• If you have done business with either the Academic or Health System – one but not the other--   and you think that you have a product or service that the other would value, ask your buyer for an introduction to her colleague on the other side.
• Best of all, if you are developing a strategy and need assistance or advice from the Supplier Diversity Team, we serve all three!
• Bonus – UVa will have representatives from all three agencies, construction officials, and senior procurement staff at SWaMFest V (Oct 13 and 24) in Roanoke.
