Straight Talk

We’re down to the last three days of January and therefore late with delivering this issue of Diversions. Shannon works hard to get things in order for a timely launch. I am the procrastinator here. There are no excuses other than the fact that I wanted to write something that would make a difference to those who read this article. We track the openings of each link and quite frankly, there has been less than spectacular interest in Straight Talk.

My ego aside, I struggled with why the SWAM Community would not be interested in what I had to say. I am still in a state of wonderment. Pressured to do something and quick, I said to myself, "Why not ask those who choose to read?" So, here's your chance! Please take the time to let me know what kinds of things would be interesting and useful to you. If I don't know the answers, my commitment is to do my best to find them. Here's a link for you to use to write: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=989623211805. Thanks in advance for your interest. By the way, the first three people to respond will receive a copy of one of my favorite books, "The E Myth Revisited - Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It." By Michael E. Gerber.

Meanwhile there are some significant outreach events on the horizon. See the bottom of this newsletter for details. And finally, it still not too late to take a quick look at your business to see if you are prepared to meet opportunities that will surface in 2007. Check out your insurance coverage, your company benefits; update your marketing material and dust off your web site; plan for training; subscribe to your industry's latest journal; and review your personnel, succession, and exit strategies. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Happy hunting!
